Spanish Fly

Hola Lovelies!

How’s it going? I woke up this am and I had in mind some sun tanning but it turns out it’s pretty darn cloudy here in Marbella and a little bit cold actually. It’s a great day to just relax and lounge around at home. I’m just surfing the net right now doing some research, cooking some veggies and planning what I’m going to make for my family for dinner. I think it might be a fresh chicken salad and some seaweed pasta with spicy tomato sauce. Yummers!

Some days are meant to be lazy and today is one of those days!

Enjoy the sunset pics below. I think it must be the most gorgeous sunset I’ve seen.

New Year, New Goals & New Challenges

Hey Lovelies!

It’s a new year and for me that means new goals and of course new challenges. I have not been to the gym in almost three weeks which is a very big thing for me and I miss it SO much. I have been exercising but it’s not the same without my gym. I have improved a lot in the past year but one of the hardest exercises for me is plank. I don’t like it, I’m not that great at it and if I can I tend to avoid it unless I’m forced to do it by my PT. So, this being the case I have decided to take on the first challenge of the year and it’s going to be the plank challenge. I have created a little progress and exercise schedule for plank. My goal is to be able to do plank, on an angle for 4 minutes or maybe a little more at the end of the month. Every day I will practice and try to stay in plank a little longer. Let’s see how it goes but my hopes are high.

This is not going to be my only challenge this year when it comes to being and staying fit. I’m planning on running a half marathon and I’m also planning on competing in the Spartan Race. Yes, that’s quite a bit I have taken on but I’m pretty sure that once I set my mind to it I’ll be able to do it. I just have to train hard and eat right. Oh yeah, and have the right frame of mind. Anything is possible as long as you want it and you are dedicated to your goals. Some of my friends often tell me that I train too much and that I should relax a little. Sometimes I think they are right but then I think again and realize that I have to do what makes me feel good and happy. In this case it’s training. I need to train 6 days a week to feel satisfied and release and receive that extra energy that I get from training. I’ve had a small break from intense working out not but on Monday it’s back to business no matter what.

Although it might be snowing and raining in most parts of the world right now, bikini season is coming up. And it’s going to come fast. One might think there is still several months left till we strip down and jump in the pool but you’ll be surprised how fast the months and weeks will pass. And remember lovelies one does not get a great body over night. It takes a lot of effort , motivation and training to get a great bikini body so you might as well start in time. That’s what I’m doing anyways. I guess as much as this is a motivational post it’s more of a self-motivating post for me. I need to remind myself from time to time that all this hard work is worth it and how great it makes me feel.

Even though today is quite windy here in Spain and a little chilly the sun is shining strong so I’m going to try to get a little bit of a tan. Even a little bit is more than nothing…see ya later Lovelies!

LOOK OF THE DAY – What She’s Wearing

You can’t go wrong wearing a little black dress or a black outfit. Might not be the most festive of colours but always looks classy and chic. I love this outfit because that’s exactly what it is. Simple, classy and chic. Great for any occasion from a day of shopping of the Costa del Sol to a fancy dinner at one of the mountain restaurants. Plus I think that blonds always look great when dressed in black. For a more festive evening look you can put a red Chanel lipstick or gloss. For the lipstick I love number 97 from Chanel and for the gloss I really like number 60 from Chanel. Those are my favorites but I like Ladybug from MAC as well.

If you don’t like an all black look you can always add a colorful bag instead of a black one. Maybe a nice blue or any other colour you desire. I love the Chanel WOC bags because you can buy it in a crazy fun colour and it literally looks good with every outfit. Wether you are dressed up or dressed down. I just got the WOC in a patent sort of metallic blue from the cruise collection and I love wearing it with black. It gives the outfit an extra something.

Anyways with that being said doesn’t Renata look great in her choice of an outfit for this gorgeous Spanish afternoon?

The Storm Before The Calm

Good Morning Lovelies!

It’s Friday and it’s sunny here today! That means tanning and then last minute errands before it’s time to start the Christmas cooking and preparing since Christmas eve is on Monday. What’s not so fun about today is that I have to go get my blood tests done and that means no eating till after 5.00 pm today and I’m already pretty hungry. Of course I’m more hungry than usual since I know that I can’t eat. It’s a mental thing but I wish I could just block it out. Maybe once I get my tan on it will be easier to ignore the rumbling in my stomach. I hope…

Today me and my brother are making Lusse Katter and homemade pizza so tha’t pretty exciting. However, I hope that baking and cooking escapades go well otherwise we are in big trouble and might have to go to bed hungry. I’m also going to a Swedish grocery store they have here in Marbella to get some yummy Swedish food for the holidays. So excited about that! I love Swedish food since I don’t seem to get it very often.

OK Lovelies, it’s time to get tanned and distract myself from not being able to eat while the rest of my family is having an amazing breakfast right in front of me. I’ll be back a little later with some more fun updates!

A Winter Day On The Beach

how do you animate pictures
Jump! Jump!

Hey Lovelies!

Today the weather was SUPER gorgeous so I went for a walk on the beach to get some fresh air, exercise and just feel the soft ocean breeze filled with a light hint of saltiness. Mmm…. I just LOVE the reflection of the sun against the sea it’s so beautiful. Before I went for my walk I tanned a bit. The sun is not as strong as in the summer but I’m sure if I keep tanning I’ll be able to get a little bit of a nice tan before 2013. Woop! Woop! I love celebrating X-mas in plus twenty degrees in Spain as opposed to the cold and slushy winters back home.

This is one of my favourite spots on the beach!

Where the ocean meets a little local lake. The reflection of the afternoon sun, sand and some beach rocks.

Sun! I love the sun, I worship the sun actually. I could spend all day outside in the sun….

Miles and miles of endless beach and sea.

Some little baby birds enjoying the nice weather as well. They actually really cute although it’s not possible to see that from this pic. They looked like little cartoon birds. OK Lovelies, it’s time for me to get ready because I’m going shopping again with the family. Can I ever get sick of shopping? I think not!!!!!

Foggy Days & Metallic Shades

Hola Lovelitos!

How’s it going? Here in Espana I’m liven’ la vida loca…nah not really but it’s pretty awesome to be back. I spent the morning drinking yummy coconut coffee and having breakfast with my super awesome family. Then I workout a bit before I got ready to go Christmas shopping. I get very distracted when it comes to shopping for other people so it takes me a couple of trips before I actually buy what I need to buy and not what I just see and want. I’m not sure if everyone is like that but this is something I need to get under control ASAP or no one will get any gifts this year but me. Just kidding….it’s not that bad!

What’s pretty bad ass is that I will be decorating palm trees with Christmas lights this year and I plan on tanning tomorrow pretty much all day and then head to the gym. If I lived in Jersey Shore it would totally be a GTL day. Except for I don’t do my own laundry…hah!

OMG, I forgot how in LOVE I am with Pata Negra ha it’s totally of the freaking walls. Yes, it’s pricy like 20 euros for a tiny pack of ham but it’s so worth it! Me and my bro where asked to get some groceries today however we ended up spending all our money on Pata Negra ham but we also managed to get some tomatoes so dinner tonight will be very Spanish. Pata Negra and sliced tomatoes with spicy sea salt and olive oil. OMG, my mouth is water just thinking about this. Not sure how our parents will feel about this type of dinner but hey you asked the kids to go grocery shopping so this is what you get right?

This evening I’m relaxing at home and watching SOA. I’ve never seen it so I’m just about to watch my first episode. Tomorrow I need to get to the gym because I have not been in a few days. I’ve worked out at my gym here at home but it’s not the same intensity as it is when you’re at the gym. Then I’m not quite sure what the plan is for the rest of the day. Maybe some gift wrapping and it’s time to bake some Lusse Katter (Swedish x-mas buns). Usually we buy them but since there is no-one that sells them here we’ll just have to bake them ourselves.

OK Lovelies, time for me to prepare the food and get ready to eat and watch some TV. Have a great day and lovely evening. Below you can see some more pics from day in Marbella.

Milou is fast asleep…

A very foggy and tropical day here today!

I’ve been a good girls this year so please bring me everything on my X-mas list?!

Sunset in Puerto Banus, very pretty!

My stylish momma!

It’s the Johnny Dep look or maybe he is going for John Lennon, though call on this one. What do you think?

ART & DESIGN – Estate In Extremadura

Architectual firm Ábaton transformed an abandoned stable into a gorgeous stone estate in the province of Cáceres, Spain. Sustainability is key as the property’s remote location relies on the sun and two naturally flowing streams for power, via solar panels and turbines. The modern interior design melds so beautifully with the rough and rustic exterior.

To me this would be a dream home where I could go, relax and get away from reality at least for a little bit.

Sigh…one day…

Don’t Count The Days, Make The Days Count – Lazy Evening

Hey Lovelies!

Since I was out ALL day yesterday and so was everyone else in my family we decided to have a lazy Saturday evening together. Lol! Here is a pic of me that mom took without me even knowing. I was watching a TV show on my laptop in our first floor living room. Not the most attractive pic but I was being plain out lazy. Later we went to pic up food later that evening, had dinner together and just watched a Swedish movie. It was the perfect ending to a busy summer day.

Today, I’m tanning for a few hours and then it’s time to pack since tomorrow it’s time to change scenery. I think I’ve told you before but I really don’t enjoy packing at all but it has to be done. What else am I going to do today? Not quite sure yet but I know it will be spent with my family that’s a given.

Here is another family member that is being lazy and watching shows on his laptop.

Last but not least we have Milou and he is being lazy too. I could almost not find him since he was so well “camoed” into the carpet.

Down Town Marbella, Up Town Puerto Banus

Hello Lovelies!

How are you? I’m a little tired but not so bad. I’ve been out running around all day from place to place in this little luxury town called Marbella. My day started of with a visit at the beauty salon followed by a breakfast on the Paseo Maritimo (Marbella’s beach promenade) by the sea in Marbella. Then I visited the famoust Saturday market in Puerto Banus by the bullring. Where every Saturday from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm you can by all kinds of stuff and the streets are filled with kaos and people trying to get the best bargain on already cheap stuff. You walk around these little market tents and even if you don’t need anything you will find something to buy which will most likely end up in some corner of your house but at that every moment in that very specific Spanish atmosphere you feel you just must have! You feeling me?

After I manage to spend money on things I don’t need it was time to get my nails done at the best nails place in Marbella which I found by coincidence. My friend had her nails done at La Canada mall but I didn’t like the result or the service at that place. The lady that was doing the nails looked like she had no clue what she was doing. Anyways, once my nails where nice and neon pink I headed to a late lunch with mom at TerraSana in Puerto Banus, just down the street from the salon. Well sort off… Once my mom saw my gorgeous nails she wanted hers done too so I had to call the salon and make her an appointment. Yes, this means we ate our lunch and headed back to the nail salon. It’s all good since I got to spend some real quality time with my lovely mom.

I’m sure by now you are a little tired of hearing me rant about my day so below is a picture bomb of what I’ve been up to all day. I hope you will all enjoy it and talk to you in a bit lovelies!

Beach in Marbella

Me at Paseo Maritimo in Marbella this am

I love that Marbella has the sea and the mountains so close to each other.

Lovely!

I am in love with these Spanish trees, so pretty!

Me and my at Saturday market in Puerto Banus.

The Bull ring in Puerto Banus.

African art you can buy at the market, all hand made. Just ask Boomba! : )

If the heat gets to you then you can always stop at PePe’s ice-cream truck for something to cool you off.

Colors, textures and creativity can all be found at the market.

My new, fresh and perfectly done neon pink nails!

Healthy lunch at TerraSana in Puerto Banus!

Beauty Errands & Pink Nails

Morning Lovelies!

How are you? I’m OK! I was going to go to the gym this am like always but I woke up this morning with a headache and I allowed myself to actually sleep in and relax for the first time on a Saturday in the morning. Right now I’m sitting, having my morning coffee and writing this post. I have quite a few things to do today so it’s not a super chill Saturday but it’s going to be a fun one. First I’m going to the beauty spa to get some treatments done and the I’m going to a nail salon in Puerto Banus to get my nails done because it’s really time. Nails and hair grow so much faster in the summer especially if you spend a lot of time in sun. Insane!

I’m thinking of doing a some kind of pink color on my nails so here are a few inspiration pics I found online. I like to get inspired before I do my hair, nails or other things.

I love the pink color here with the one pastel aqua blue on just that one nail to make it more interesting.

This is awesome! I love having different nails and this is most def something I would love to try but not here in Spain. I need my nail girls in Montreal to do this for me I trust that they will do an awesome job! Can’t wait to try this.

Pink and sparkles is totally my thing especially in the summer when one is tanned. So I have a few options to choose from but like always I will decide once I get to the salon and see all the colors and talk to the nail technician to see what she thinks.

Another cool thing I’m going to check out today is something called “Barato” which means cheap in Spanish but the actual meaning is market. Yup, it’s the local Saturday market that is located near the Bullring in the port. There you can find anything from food to shoes to house things and antiques. I have not been to one of these markets in years so I’m really excited to walk around and see what hidden gems I can find.

OK, I’ve got to run and get ready now but I’ll be back a little later!
