Hey Lovelies!
Quite a few of you have asked me about my make-up and more specifically about my eye make-up. Let me start by telling you I don’t wear a lot of make-up to begin with and I like it to look as natural as possible. I make a few exception if I have special evening events where I might wear a little bit more blush or some darker eye make-up but like I said that happens very rarely.
The make-up I use for my whole face is the following:
I use a little bit of cover up if necessary in specific places. I like the liquid form of cover up from MAC make-up. Then I use a power foundation from Bare Minerals which I absolutely LOVE and can’t live a day with out. As for my blush I use the bronzer from MAC called Refined Golden and then a tad of a pink blush from MAC to give my cheeks that natural pinky glow. That’s it thats all for the base and the whole face make-up.
Let’s move on and I’ll tell you about my every day eye make-up.
I don’t have huge eyes but they are a decent size and I quite like them so therefore I like to make them stand out but look as natural as possible.
I have always loved perfect eyebrows so I regularly go and get then threaded at Westmount Spa by this amazing Iranian girl. She gives them the perfect shape while still keeping my eyebrows pretty thick. I also tend to die them black each time I go see here. I like the contrast between my blond hair and my dark eyebrows. I feel like they make my eyes standout more and I totally love big, dark eyebrows but I guess that is a personal choice. When I do my makeup, even though my eyebrows are already dark I fill them in with a brown eyeshadow. Very lightly but if gives them a very defined look which I like.
Then I use a beige eyeshadow from MAC called Shroom. I apply it all over my eye, eyelid and underneath my eyebrows and eye. This opens up the eye area even more and gives the impression of larger eyes as well as it gives one a good base if one wants to apply other eye-shadows on top. I usually don’t unless I go for the smokey eye but that will have to be another blog post.
Once that is applied I use a burgundy / purple eyeshadow from MAC. I apply it quite thick all along the top of my eye just above my eyelashes. Sort of like an eyeliner but using this eyeshadow. I create a cat-eye shape. This means that the line goes past where my eye end and I curve it upwards. The reason I do this is because it elongates your eyes and I love the look of a mystical and sexy cat-eye. On top of this eyeshadow line I apply a dark purple eyeliner but only along and very close the eyelashes to accentuate the thickness of my eyelashes once I apply my mascara.
Last but not least I apply my mascara and I like to use quite a bit of it. I have tried all kinds of different mascaras from the most expensive ones to the pharmacy brands but I always come back to my black Lancome mascara. I have been using Lancome mascaras since the day I got my first mascara and it’s hands down my favorite one. I like all the different Lancome mascaras so each time I buy a new one I tend to change. They are all fabulous.
With that being said that’s the extent of my make-up. I use lip-gloss or a light lipstick or sometimes both. I’m not very big on lip-liners unless I wear a red lipstick on occasion.
Like I said Lovelies, I like to keep it simple and natural because I think it suits me the best as well as I believe that the beauty of make-up is looking gorgeous without anyone knowing that you are wearing make-up. Oh ops, did I just give away my secret? Or maybe you already knew that?
Here is a little close up and some different angles of my eye make-up.
Speaking of all this make-up I better get going and actually go do my make-up since it’s party time tonight. I have no idea what I’m going to wear but I guess applying make-up is a start to the getting ready process a girl has to go through before she can slip into an outfit and put those dancing heels on.
