ART & DESIGN – Flying Houses

In his series titled “Flying Houses,” Laurent Chehere manipulates images by placing ordinary homes and buildings high into the sky. Inspired by the forgotten homes of the Belleville and Menilmontant neighborhoods in Paris, Chehere brilliantly highlights the unsung beauty and details of the architecture.

I’m in love with the movie Up so when I saw this art of flying houses I instantly loved it as well. Scroll down to see more.

COLLAGE A LA MODE – Beautiful Baroque

With ornate details and gilded edges, the drama of the baroque period has been fancifully captured this season. Elaborate beading and embroidered details give modern pieces a little old-world elegance.

In preparation for the drama that inevitably accompanies the darkest and seemingly moodiest period of the year, baroque offers a slight shift in attitude. It’s not relaxed by any stretch, but it may well be the season’s answer to warm weather’s engaging nautical stripes, bringing with it a liveliness not usually seen at this time of year. Make the look your own via these practical, very wearable pieces.

Beautiful Baroque

Your go-to LBD suddenly looks a bit boring, doesn’t it? It’s a mesmerizing alternative to your usual eveningwear – something to infuse a hint of royalty into your look without going overboard. The devil really is in the details, ladies. Look to these Prada Sunglasses to make a bold statement with their grandly scrolled arms. These are just a few items I picked out but the options for Baroque are endless this fall season.

Do you LOVE this trend? Since I was brought up with Versace clothing and home decor I’m totally loving this trend and can’t wait to wear as much as possible of it before goes away again.

ASOS full skirt dress, 125 CAD / River Island black mini dress, 95 CAD / Miss Selfridge peplum shirt, 67 CAD / Emilio Pucci embroidered jacket, 3,915 CAD / Topshop metallic skirt, 78 CAD / Highwaisted shorts, 37 CAD / Alexander McQueen black high heels, 1,065 CAD / Alexis Bittar jewelry, 295 CAD / Tech accessory / Mary Katrantzou floral scarve, 605 CAD / Prada eyewear, 285 CAD / Voluspa Noir 2-Wick Candle Tins, 24 CAD

Naked & Frustrated

Hey Lovelies!

How are you? I’m having a little bit of a rough day to be honest. I had to go out for a little bit today to get a few things so I obviously had to pick something to wear but everything I tried on was too big. All my clothes, or let me rephrase most of my clothes just hang on me. I’m not complaining per say because I’m very happy with my new body and the way it looks. However with that being said it’s a little bit, no actually A LOT frustrating when most of my clothes look like garbage bags on me right now. So not fashionably fabulous, do you feel me lovelies? Today is probably one of the days I realized that I actually have lost  quite a bit of weight. I tend to forget or not realize it most of the time till I put on clothes that I have not purchased recently and I see how much bigger they are. It’s amazing! I’m so happy and I’m not done with my body transformation yet, I still have a lot of work left and many hours at the gym but what do I wear now as in right now? My jeans are too big, so are my skirts and a lot of my tops. My dresses still fit pretty well because you can’t tell as much if a dress is a little bit too big or not. What do I do? Shall I just go on a no clothes strike? I almost feel that walking around naked or in my underwear would make my life SO much easier than trying to find something that actually fits me in my closet.

I know you are probably thinking that I’m nuts. First I complain and bitch about how much I have to train and the food I need to eat or not eat to loose weight and get my perfect body. But now I’m complaining about my clothes being too big. Ah, yes the life of every girl…or is it? Am I the only who feels like this sometimes? When I go shopping I still pick sizes that don’t fit me because I’m used to choosing a bigger size and then I have to leave the changing room and  go and get a smaller size. Annoying!!! Yay (for fitting in to smaller sizes), that’s awesome but so much more work when it comes to shopping. So once again I’m back at square one, it would just be so much easier to walk around in my underwear or naked. Unfortunately I don’t live in a country where the weather permits that kind of behaviour…ugh! Well even if I did I’m pretty sure that there is a law against indecent exposure which this would most likely be considered as. Right?

It’s not enough that my clothes are too big lovelies. I tried on quite a few pairs of my shoes the other day and even my shoes and boots are looser on my feet than before and no they did not stretch. Who knew that you could loose weight on your toes and feet. Sort of funny and something I never thought about. Did you? Alterations to my favorite clothing pieces can be made but it’s not like I can make my shoes smaller. What a waste of some really nice pairs of shoes. I think I will have to have a ViktoriaLove closet blowout sale sometime soon. Sell a few pieces so I can buy some new clothes that actually fit me they way they should.

OK, with all this complaining I’ve done I just want you to know that I’m not that upset. I just needed to vent a little bit about my situation and I’m EXTREMELY happy that I’ve lost weight and I’m going to keep working double as hard to reach my final goal even if I will have no clothes that fit me at the end of it and I’ll actually have to live in my gym clothes (because they are very tight and fitted) or a la naked style all they way. Lol, just saying lovelies! :)

I feel so much better after sharing my thoughts with all of you. Is there anyone else in this situation that has some advise or something to say about this matter? I would love to hear your opinions on this little problem of mine.
