The other day I was invited to the first Canadian store opening of Vilebrequin and it took place at Ogilvy in Montreal. Vilebrequin, the renowned men’s and boy’s swimwear manufacturer and retailer from St Tropez offers iconic swimwear as well as a range of accessories.
For more than 40 years, Vilebrequin has created stylish swim trunks with lots of vibrant colors and patterns in all different styles. My dad has been wearing them since I can remember so it’s kind of funny to see people get really excited about the store opening in Montreal or to see people who have no idea what this brand is. C’mon fashionistas this is a brand you should now!
At the event the guests got a glimpse of the 2011 collection which features whimsical prints that celebrate the vibrant colors and patterns of Africa as well as contemporary art-themed patterns inspired by influential artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Litchtenstein and Jackson Pollock and for the more conservative males there are of course swim trunks in just solid colors.
During the “mini” fashion show at the opening of Vilebrequin the matching father and son collection of swimsuits was shown and of course that was my favorite part of the evening. The baby boy was a super cute little model.
Like I mentioned before in addition to the swimsuits Vilebrequin offers a wide range of beachwear and resort items including linen shirts and pants, t-shirts and plush towels. Accessories include linen caps and stylish beach bags to help complete the look.
My favorite swim trunks from the collection were the ones that were a solid color but when they got wet little turtle prints appeared all over the swim trunks. Super cute!
Have a look below for more pictures from the fashion show as well as photos of how the Vilebrequin store looks and the huge selection of swim trunks they have to offer.
There is so many patterns, colors and style to choose from that everyone is will find a pair of Vilebrequin swim trunks to wear this summer.
Lol! For some reason I love these swim trunks with the shrimps on them!
If you have not yet visited Vilebrequin located inside of Ogilvy in Montreal head on down this weekend.
This could be a perfect fathers day gift, just saying!
